HSA Science and EOC Exams Test Administration Manual 2019-2020 (Coming Soon)

This manual includes information about policies and procedures for Test Administrators, Test Coordinators, and others involved in test administration.

HSA Science Bridge Assessments Blueprints /core/fileparse.php/3388/urlt/Science_Blueprints-for-Bridge.pdf

The HSA Science Assessments for grades 4 and 8 and the Biology End-of-Course Exam will be the Bridge Assessments for SY 2017-2018 and SY 2018-2019 as Hawaii moves towards tests that are fully aligned to NGSS in SY 2019-2020. The Bridge Assessments measure students’ attainment of the relevant HCPS III standards and benchmarks that are aligned with NGSS performance expectations. Students will be given two opportunities to take the HSA Science Assessments and one for the Biology EOC.

The modified blueprint for each test indicates the specific HCPS III benchmarks that will be included on the Bridge Assessment.

The Quick Guide provides a brief overview of the steps for activating your TIDE account, logging into TIDE, and adding user accounts (if allowed).

The Quick Guide to Monitoring Test Progress in TIDE provides a brief overview of the steps to generate reports to monitor individual student and subgroup participation and school summary percent participation.

Smarter Balanced and HSA Science Parent Information Booklet (English) 2018-2019 /core/fileparse.php/3388/urlt/HI-Smarter-Balanced-and-HSA-Science-PIB-2018-19.pdf

The Parent Information Booklet (PIB) includes information for the grades 3–8 and 11 Smarter Balanced ELA/Literacy and Mathematics Assessments and the grades 4 and 8 Hawaii State Science Assessments. Printed copies of the PIBs will be delivered to each school in September. The number of English and translated PIBs provided to each school is based on the language spoken at home as indicated in Infinite Campus.

This Parent Information Booklet (PIB) in English was also available in 14 languages (not archived). One translated PIB for identified ELL students whose parents have indicated their home language is a language other than English in the eSIS home language file was also shipped to each school in January 2019.

Smarter Balanced and HSA Science Parent Letters (English) 2018-2019 /core/fileparse.php/3388/urlt/2018-2019-Smarter-Balanced-HSA-Science-Parent-Letters-English.docx

Participation and non-participation letters that schools may send to parents along with the Parent Information Booklet about the grades 3-8 and 11 Smarter Balanced ELA/Literacy and Mathematics Assessments and the grades 4 and 8 Hawaii State Science Assessments are available in English and 14 translated languages (not archived).

These parent letters are Word documents that can be edited by school level staff members. Edits may include a school’s testing schedule, principal’s signature, and school phone number. If a student is included in two populations, e.g., IDEA-eligible and Home/Hospital Instruction, a customized parent letter can be created by inserting the appropriate text from the parent letter for each of these two populations.
